10/8 and 10/9- went over the Choosing a Topic Worksheet which is due next class. Then went over the connection between the social contract/constitution/and elections. Students were randomly assigned a presidential candidate and party to research that will be used for a bigger project later.
10/4 and 10/5- In perparation for the election unit, we watch a documentary about a primary compaign and took notes on different techniques used in the elction.
10/2 and 10/3- We took notes on the constitution.
9/28 and 10/1- We learned about the filter bubbles of google and then did the worksheet "Googling to the max"
9/26 and 9/27- For the first half of class we finished our reading work samples or continued to research for our senior project topics or we did the website www.isidewith.com. The quiz on that website needs to be done by wednesday/thursday. The second half of class we had a socratic seminar on the four questions about freedom of speech. If you were absent you need to get the make-up assignment from me.
9/24 and 9/25- Half of class was spent on work sample of Declaration of Independence. The second half of class was in the computer lab starting research on senior project. HW: Read the 3 articles on what is happening around the film "Innocences of Muslims" and answer the four questions on pg 12 in your notebook.
9/20 and 9/21- Half of the class spent on work sample of Declaration of Independence. The second half of class was defining the differences between Research and Report. HW. Think of at least 2 ideas you are interested in for the senior proejct.
9/18 and 9/19- we continued to discuss the ideas of John Locke in particular natural rights and social contract. We then started a reading work sample.
9/14 and 9/17- Checked "Who's responsible." eplored the beginnig of US government by exploring our ideas of how a society should take care of itself (6 questions on pg 6), took notes on John Locke and answered critical thinking questions on pg 7.
912 and 9/13- Put together notebook, and went over parts of the Senior Project. And then did "who's Responsible" on page 5.
9/10 and 9/11- Ms. Nova came in the first half of class and talked about internship options for the first half of class. The second half of class we worked on our Letters of Intro which are due next class.
9/6 and 9/7- Did a 5 line drawing of ourselves. wWnt over syllabus and started discussing our senior projects.
